Packaging As Unique As Each Pen
A lot of thought goes into each hand crafted pen so it only seems right that our gift packaging should be just as unique. Boxes are bulky and become closet dust collectors providing no use after the initial presentation. Pouches and draw-string bags just aren't elegant enough although they do provide some practical protection in briefcases and handbags. I kept coming back around to the size and shape of a pen needing a tube of some sort- something I had thought about five years ago. Something like a cigar tube for protection and transportation, but elegant. A business acquaintance recently introduced me to high end cigar tubes made from leathers. Bingo in the I row! That was it exactly.
In the last few months I have sourced three outstanding aluminum tubes (Carbon Fiber, Brass Arabesque Scroll and Red Lacquer) that compliment a number of Pen Studio creations. These tubes have silicone liners and pads installed in the end and cap to protect your pen. They are beautiful, light weight, portable and offer protection for your pen in a briefcase or handbag where keys or phones might otherwise cause scratches. We've added black and brown leather telescoping tubes with cedar linings to our packaging line-up as well.
Because Pen Studio is all about unique craftsmanship, I'm currently working on turning exotic wood tubes to add to our custom offerings. Padauk, Zebrawood, Black Palm, Bubinga, Leopardwood, and Red Gum are a few of the woods I've sourced to date. I hope to add some images in the coming weeks so check back soon.
