What inspires you? How do you know how to do these things? Did you take a class to learn? I am often asked these questions. The answer is, I honestly don't know, I just figure it out and, no, I didn't take a class. Although I'm not against learning that way, it's just not something I'm comfortable doing. I find learning how to create as thrilling as the end product. That is probably why I rarely make the same thing twice. I enjoy learning, experimenting, and reengineering my failures until I finally get it right. If it was easy it would be boring.

Pen Studio is my happy place. In it you will find baskets, boxes and tubs of fascinating sundries, fragrant leathers, drying botanicals, colorful inks, paints, dyes, pigmented powders, and pastels. Textured handmade paper and canvases sit ready in one corner, while charcoal, pencils, and erasers await inspiration. A full woodshop beckons... create, create. The pull is undeniable. What will the next project be?
